SSOA Shop Windows Open

Integreat Plus has been working closely with The Sheffield Society of Architects and RIBA to produce a series of window displays in Sheffield City Centre. This initial project involves the creation of three new shop window displays which are being designed and constructed via an unique collaboration between the City’s Architectural Students and the Visual Merchandise Apprentices from the Showcase (via the Source Academy).

A workshop between these students was held at the offices of Integreat Plus and an exciting array of ideas and concepts were drawn up including ‘The Veil of Time’, ‘Skeletons of Sheffield’, ‘Architectural Moments’ and ‘Black and White City’.  Integreat  Plus has been supporting this project throughout, bringing together the two schools of architecture  and their student societies (SUAS and SHARC) together with the apprentices from the Source Academy. This will showcase the talents of all,  celebrating and highlighting the particular educational architectural heritage of our city, in a way which can be appreciated by everyone.

The windows will be on display for the next three weeks, so pop down to Pinstone Street and take a look!

Sheffield Society of Architects together with RIBA, are launching a year long series of events to celebrate and mark the Society of Architects’ 125 year anniversary.  These events will include walking, sketching and photographic tours, culminating with an exhibition of illustrations of 125 buildings, places and spaces which have shaped Sheffield over the last 125 years. These will be nominated by 125 people of the City.
